Priorities
A Focus on Broomfield
-
My focus will be local and what is best for Broomfield.
-
As a Ward 4 representative, a priority will be to have conversations with residents and be a spokesperson for Ward 4.
-
I will actively assist Ward 4 residents with issues requiring assistance from the City.
-
Recently a group from outside Broomfield tried to divide and distract us from the issues we face which need to be addressed. They attacked the character of some of our elected officials and candidates instead of focusing on conversations about our policy differences.
When I decided to run for City Council, I decided to run a positive campaign focused on the results of the 2025 Broomfield Community Survey. A group registered in Windsor, CO decided
The committee that produced the hangers are registered in Windsor, CO. I do not know the people involved. My campaign has no association with this group. I also agree that there is no place for personal / ad hominem political attacks in Broomfield.
-
From restaurants to coffee shops to entertainment, we need them to be local.
-
As new development and redevelopment occurs, I will focus on businesses that improve employment options and improve our ability to spend our dollars in Broomfield.

Responsibility
-
Start by reviewing the big picture of revenue and expenses, using a top-down approach.
-
Look at multi-year projections to plan for major costs and avoid surprises that could strain the City’s finances or catch residents off guard.
-
Use a “keep the lights on” estimate each year to understand the budget needed to maintain current services, without adding anything new.
-
The remaining funds become the discretionary budget for new programs.
-
This process encourages thoughtful discussions about ongoing projects and what new initiatives can be supported.
-
Prioritize financial sustainability and resilience, ensuring we meet today’s needs without jeopardizing future generations.
-
The three core pillars of sustainability are environmental, social and economic (ESG).
- My approach is pragmatic sustainability that prioritizes practical, adaptable, and context-specific solutions.
- Each challenge should take into account the unique circumstances, environments, and stakeholders involved.
Sustainability
Housing
-
Broomfield Housing Alliance is the Housing Authority of the City and County of Broomfield.
-
I am working with BHA Director Kristin Heyser to understand their processes to create a communication plan to help everyone understand the goals and methods used to improve Broomfield's housing.
-
As our population grows, planning for an adequate water supply remains critical while also ensuring we are properly maintaining aging infrastructure in Broomfield's original communities.
-
Water conservation will continue to be important for new developments, as well as supporting existing residents in making the transition to xeriscape and eco-friendly landscaping.
-
I live within walking distance of the Eagle Trace golf course, and I am aware of the potential sale of this property along with the issues related to the sale of the water rights. I will work with community members, my Council colleagues who are already engaged, and city staff to assist in this important effort to ensure a vibrant community now and in the future.
Water Issues
Wildland-Urban Interface
-
The health and safety of Broomfield residents is a top priority.
-
We must continue work on the wildland-urban interface (WUI) along our western border.
-
As President of the RedLeaf HOA, I worked with the North Metro Fire Rescue District to assess and provide recommendations to the HOA regarding the fire threat level of our open space.
-
While RedLeaf's WUI is small and our risk is low, I became educated on the strategies used to mitigate risk.
-
I will use that knowledge in discussions and working groups focused on Broomfield's wildlife-urban interface.
